NCBBGB Returns To Derby With Tom Hutchingson

The 60-strong National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain (NCBBGB), which features some of the UK's best young brass and percussion players, is to once again return to Repton School near Derby for its annual residential course and concert.

The NCBBGB, which is open to children from eight to 12, has been visiting Repton School every year since it was founded in 2003. The children will spend just under a week at the boarding school, culminating in an end of course concert on July 30 at the school's multi-million pound concert hall.

Guest soloist for the concert is to be Tom Hutchinson, one of the UK's finest cornet soloists, who earlier this year led the Cory Band to victory at the European Brass Band Championships on principal cornet. Black Dyke Band's Musical Director, Nicholas Childs, the Artistic Director of the NCBBGB, will conduct both the course and the concert.
