Young Composers Competition Launched At Ironbridge Festival

Organisers of a major UK brass band festival which has taken place in Shropshire every summer for the last eleven years, have launched a competition to find the best young composer of brass band music for 2015.

As a result of continued sponsorship support from Shropshire based Estate Agents and Valuers, Nock Deighton, the competition will be staged for the third year running, ahead of the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival which will take place on 11th and 12th July 2015 at the Museum of Iron in Coalbrookdale.

Eric Peagam of the Ironbridge Brass Band Festival committee, told A4B: “All young composers under the age of 21 are invited to submit their own composition, in any genre or style, as long as it is fully scored for brass band.”
