Gary Curtin Takes Foden’s Euphonium Role
Foden’s are pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Curtin as the bands new Solo Euphonium who joins from Black Dyke.
Speaking about his move, Gary commented ‘My time at Black Dyke has genuinely been a dream come true. To achieve so much with the band, winning contests and a number of solo prizes as well as taking part in so many brilliant concerts has been a sheer joy. With getting married next year and life moving on it is time to make some changes and one has to be the amount of time I spend on the road. It just so happens that Foden’s are very close to where I live and had a vacancy following the departure of David Thornton. I spoke to Mark Wilkinson and I decided that it was the right time to make the move. I am very much looking forward to becoming part of the bands furniture, working with Bramwell Tovey and Michael Fowles as well as a number of exciting plans and projects that the band have planned for next year.’
Speaking about Gary’s appointment, Mark Wilkinson told A4B: ‘When the Solo Euphonium position became vacant there was only one person that the band wanted. Gary is undoubtedly one of the worlds leading Euphonium players with a proven track record and all at Foden’s are extremely pleased that he has agreed to join.’
Gary takes up his new role in January.
