Shirebrook Contest To Return For A Third Year

Following on from the success of the 2016 “Shirebrook Town Music Festival” with “Brass in the Park” on Sunday afternoons and the “Shirebrook Brass Band Open Entertainment Contest”, Shirebrook Town Council are pleased to announce that they will be continuing these events for 2017 with Shirebrook Town Music Festival “Brass Band Entertainment Contest scheduled for 9th July 2017.

Sunday 9th July will be the ‘3rd Shirebrook Brass Band Open Entertainment Contest’ at the Shirebrook Leisure Centre, Park Road, Shirebrook, Mansfield, Notts. NG20 8JQ.

There will be no registration, it is open to any band to enter, contesting or non-contesting, and the entry fee is £50.

The festival have increased the prizes on offer to bands which are now a 1st prize of £750, 2nd prize of £400 and 3rd prize of £200 and £200 for most entertaining 2nd Section Band £200 for most entertaining 3rd Section Band and £200 for the most entertaining 4th section band performance.
