Whitburn To Host Free Workshop With Black Dyke Stars
Whitburn Band is looking forward to welcoming two leading brass band stars to Scotland for a workshop and concert.
At 7:30pm on Friday, February 17th, Black Dyke’s Principal Cornet player Richard Marshall and Principal Euphonium Daniel Thomas will perform in concert with the Scottish Open champion band at the Howden Park Centre in Livingston. The event will be conducted by Professor Nicholas Childs, Black’s Dyke’s Musical Director and Whitburn’s Professional Conductor.
The following morning, Richard and Daniel will lead workshops at Whitburn band hall in a free event for all brass players in Scotland. They will share their experiences of playing in one of the world’s leading brass bands, and offer playing tips for performers of all levels.
The events, in association with Band Supplies, Youth Music Initiative, the East of Scotland Brass Band Association and the Scottish Brass Band Association, are part of Whitburn’s work to provide innovative and inspiring workshops and opportunities for all brass musicians from across the country.
