National Championships Preview Evening In Sheffield

Unite the Union Brass Band are hosting a National Finals Preview night as part of their City of Sheffield Band Club season of concerts.

A band from each of the 1st 2nd and 3rd sections will be represented allowing them to have a ‘run out in public’ experience ahead of the real thing a week later. The featured bands are Shirland Welfare Band, Worsborough Brass Band and Unite the Union Brass Band.

There is however, a space for any fourth section band looking to give their test piece a run out. A spokesperson for the event told A4B: ‘Any fourth Section band who would like to participate and have a run -out of your test-piece, we do have space for one. Please do contact us on 07723 077670 as soon as possible. This will be operated on a first come, first served basis.’

Adjudicating for the evening and providing useful comments to aid the bands’ final preparations for the National Championships will be provided by Leigh Baker.

The Band Club takes place at Niagra Conference Centre, Niagra Road, Sheffield S6 1LU. The Preview evening is on Sunday 10th September at 7.30pm. Doors will be open at 6.45pm and entry to all non players is £4.00
