Thoresby Nationals Finals Sees Engagement Celebrations

Whilst bands celebrated their success at the National Finals, two members of Thoresby Colliery Band are celebrating more than just a great performance by getting engaged on stage!

As soon as the final note had been played, Eddie Anguish put down his Eb Bass and proposed to his partner Julie Edwards, one of the band’s 3rd cornet players. As the band revelled in the crowds applause Julie said yes to Eddie and all at Thoresby are naturally delighted.

A spokesperson for Thoresby Band told A4B: “Julie and Eddie are just two much loved players of Thoresby’s big family and we are over the moon at their engagement, which apparently Eddie had been thinking about doing during our Finals preparations. We wish them all the happiness for the coming years ahead.”
