Brackley & District Ready For Steven Mead Workshop
Members of the Brackley & District Band, together with Stowe School brass students, will enjoy an afternoon workshop with Steven Mead during which they will work on some challenging new repertoire and look to put the final touches to the concert programme ahead of an evening concert.
Steven Mead needs no introduction to brass enthusiasts around the world as his playing and teaching have become known to virtually all who have a love for the instrument known as the euphonium. As a soloist his career as a professional solo performer continues to break new ground. With over 75 solo performances a year his relentless schedule sees him touring almost constantly. This remarkable solo career followed on from the successes he achieved as a member of several of the UK’s leading brass bands. Nowadays he travels constantly and performs regularly with some of the finest brass, wind and symphonic ensembles in the world.
During the concert, Steven will perform a number of solo items, accompanied by the Band which has a former pupil of his, Micah Parsons at the helm. A spokesperson for the band told A4B: ‘This workshop offers a fantastic opportunity for us all to draw upon Steven’s wealth of experience and talent.’
