NEMBBA Youth Band Finish Year In Style

Sunday 2nd December saw 45 young players from across the Midlands area and beyond, meet for their last course this year.

Led by Brett Baker and supported by tutors Gary Wyatt, Simon Gresswell and Adie Smith, the talented youngsters enjoyed sectionals and full band rehearsals, before performing a short programme to an audience of over 100 parents. The repertoire for the day consisted of Olympus, Praise and Pound the Streets.

The afternoon session saw 12 young students from the Shirland Primary School take part in a workshop led by Simon Gresswell, followed by a short performance to their parents.
Youth Band Director Martin Heartfield told A4B: “Special thanks must go the Shirland Band and Ian Beckett for their support in the smooth organisation of the day. The band continues to thrive and we are looking forward to our next course on March 31st”
