Brooks to Lead Easington to the Regionals
After recent success at the Bolsover Festival of Brass in October, where Easington Colliery Band achieved 2nd place and their qualification place into the Spring Festival, the band are delighted to join forces again with Daniel Brooks to lead them to the Northern Regional Championships in 2019.
Daniel currently is currently MD of the highly successful Elland Silver Band in the Championship Section in Yorkshire, so is no stranger to tough competition at the top. He is also no stranger to the Northern area as he made his debut in the Gala Theatre at Durham this year, at the helm of North Skelton Band in the 2nd section where he led them to victory. He is linking up again here with Easington on what he hopes to be a continued and successful partnership with the band.
Band Manager, Peter Lawson told A4B: “I’m so delighted Daniel accepted our offer to take us to the North of England Championships in March, he brought a spark that ignited the band at Bolsover and he is confident he can keep that fire going and get us a result in Durham”
On hearing the news, Daniel told A4B, “Easington are a hardworking and fun band to work with, so I was more than happy to take up their offer. They are a band on the up and I can’t wait to get working on what we hope to be a successful result in March. It’s also great to have a strong helping force with Peter Lawson and excellent pre-contest preparation from new MD Jonathan Fenwick. I’m sure the band will continue to flourish in 2019 and am looking forward to being a part of that.”
