Holme Valley Solo Contest Confirms New Date

The organisers of the 10th Annual Slow Melody and Ensemble competition at Hade Edge band room have confirmed the date for the 2019 will be Saturday 9th November, starting at 10.00am.

Graham Bates told A4B: “We have enjoyed running previous events in June, however it was felt by ourselves and some entrants (or potential entrants) that moving away from that time of year to avoid exams and holidays may help to encourage more support, especially in the younger age groups. Whilst we had nearly 30 performances last year, it was suggested that we move to the November date to see what impact this would have. The event will have the usual format and more details will be released in due course, but as people are planning their summer diaries we thought it wise to confirm our new date at this time”.
