BBE Announces BandSafe Training Dates In Wales
After the recent announcement that performances in Wales can now be covered by the Brass Bands England (BBE) Body of Persons Approval (BOPA), three new training dates have been announced covering Wales to ensure that bands in the Principality wishing to use the system have easier access to the training. The events are booked in bandrooms from 21-23 April, covering north, mid and south Wales. To book on the training band should visit www.bbe.org.uk/events.
The BBE BOPA allows bands to cover their events for Child Performance Licensing with a significant administration-saving application process, once they meet the requirements to use the system. To answer any questions about the system and how BBE can support Welsh bands, BBE Partnership and Relationship Development Manager Alex Parker will be attending the Welsh Regional Championships at Swansea University this weekend.
Alex Parker commented: “It’s great that, after applying for a Welsh BOPA to support our English members as well as our existing 15 Welsh member bands, our services can now be used by all Welsh Bands. With BBE membership costing just over 1p per day per band member, we have great benefits to help members, such as as savings on insurance, discounts on making their PRS returns and access to our development events. It’s exciting to be able work with and support even more bands, so to help bands find out what is available we thought it would be good to go to Wales to be able to answer any questions directly.”
The BandSafe Training dates covering Wales will be:
Menai Bridge Brass Band
Porthywaen Silver Band Hall
Porth-y-waen
Oswestry
SY10 8LS
The Salem Vestry
