“Britain’s Best Brass Set For National TV Show”
Following the popularity of Cory’s appearance on national television and their viral internet rehearsal, a media source close to A4B has informed us that plans are being drawn up to host and broadcast the first online brass band competition on terrestrial television.
Following decline in recent years to programmes like X-Factor and The Voice, a spokesman from the TV company has told A4B that they are interested in a brass band version of a competition.”
Band’s and individuals from all over the country are already flooding the internet and Facebook with their own solo and Acapella performances bringing the brass band movement to a previously untapped audience.
A4B’s source from the TV media company went on to say: “This is already in the advanced stages of pre-production as we would like to get this going as quickly as possible while everyone is stuck inside due to Covid-19 and will hopefully give more drive to players and keep everyone occupied and interested”.
From what A4B understand, the contest would work as follows:
Bands from across the country would be contacted via email and would be asked to submit recordings of their band and individual players playing a piece of music that would show off the bands flare and style. These recordings will be shown in snippets and judged via a panel of celebrity and music industry guru’s.
The top 36 bands entered would be asked to play a selection of music as a ‘15 minute programme’ to be aired at a rate of 6 bands a week for 6 weeks.
Viewers of the programme will vote each week on the 6 bands taking part, whittling down the competitors to just 10 with 6 of the bands being public votes and 4 being Judges ‘Star Performance’.
The 10 remaining Bands would then be invited to perform live on TV (after the pandemic is over of course) with a winner chosen by and voted for by you the viewers.
The production company’s spokesman: “We love music. What Cory did lifted us up and excited us and it is this that we hope to do with the nation.
As the country is missing its sporting fix, and missing its regular fun TV shows, a new type of TV show is born based on the internet viral videos. Entry is via invite only so bands will be contacted via email, so keep practicing, keep posting those videos and look after yourselves and one another.”
