A ‘Magnificent’ salute from Regent
Like every band, Regent Brass has had to stop all of it’s rehearsals and planned activities in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. That doesn’t mean that the band has been taking any time off!
Inspired by the heroes of our National Health Service and front line carers, Regent have today released a tribute with a unique, socially-distanced recording of ‘Those Magnificent Men in their Flying machines’ – a fun take on an old classic with a bit of comedy thrown in.
The band’s Musical Director, Paul Archibald, has led this project and has also spent a lot of time putting together the video, which features band members in their home recording ‘studios’, as well as some fun with some successful – and less successful – flying machines.
Paul told A4B: ‘Being a Central London band with a wide reach, Regent has a lot of friends and family who are key workers in the NHS and care sectors. We have been inspired by the clapping for the NHS in recent weeks, and wanted to do something to not only reach out to the band but to hopefully inspire our front line health care heroes and show them how grateful we are’.
The video is on YouTube at this link: https://youtu.be/P05V8-pQRtg
At the end of the video is a link to the NHS COVID-19 urgent appeal. If you enjoy our tribute, Regent would encourage you to donate and help our NHS heroes beat this virus – and we will all beat it, together.
