Brass For NHS

A few weeks ago, Stannington Brass Band competed with other First Section bands in Yorkshire at the Area Brass Band Championships. The contest piece they performed was “Legacy for Brass Band” by TomDavorenwhich was composed to celebrate the life and achievements of Welsh politician Aneurin Bevan and the 70th Anniversary of the National Health Service.

A spokesperson for the band said “We are not able to do what we do best at the moment – perform live – but we hope that the banding community and our audiences will get behind us in supporting the dedicated health care workers and donate to the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Campaign.”
