New Faces at Enderby

Despite the restrictions of the Covid pandemic, which has been difficult for everyone, Enderby Band are pleased to welcome four new faces to the Band:

Graham Patterson has recently joined the Band on BBb Bass.  Graham brings a wealth of experience with him having more recently being a member of the GUS Band and Redbridge Band.  Graham was also of the Salvation Army, playing for the prestigious Chalk Farm Band and Enfield Citadel Band.

Corey Kohut is an up and coming young player who has broad experience already having started playing cornet in school bands and more recently with Enderby Youth Band and Blidworth Welfare Band and has joined on Back Row Cornet.  Corey also plays flugel in the North East Midlands Brass Band Association and Grimethorpe Youth Band.  He takes an active interest in the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain as a mentor.  Outside of brass banding, Corey is actively involved in the South East Derbyshire Music Centre, Derbyshire City and County Youth Wind Band and Derbyshire Army Cadet Force Band.

Anabel Voigt has joined the Band on Solo Horn, taking over the reins in leading the Horn section from Robert Foulds who has achieved his lifelong ambition of playing Second Horn.  Annabel is originally from Jena in Germany and from an early age has played in Bands in the local area of Thuringia.  Anabel is just coming to the end of her first year as a student at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire,

Finally we welcome Abigail Patterson who joins the band on Repiano Cornet.  Abi studied for four years at Chethams School of Music and for the last year has been a student at the Guildhall School of Music and drama.  Abi was the previous principal cornet at Youth Brass 2000.

Ryan Richards, Musical Director said “Graham, Corey, Anabel and Abi all bring different qualities and strengths to the band and they, along with our other members will be instrumental in the Band re-adjusting and starting up again following the Covid pandemic”.

Band Chairman, Ian Hayto commented “These are great additions to the Enderby line up with a huge variety of experience.  It’s also fantastic to see yet another member from the Organisations’ Youth Band joining us”.

Enderby Band would also like to say thank you to Rhys Kerry and Christopher Oddy who have recently moved on to other opportunities.  We wish you both good luck for your future endeavours.
