Black Dyke Sop Star Announces Resignation
Black Dyke’s star soprano player has called time with the Queensbury based band.
Benjamin Richeton leaves the band after four rewarding years, with European, Open and National successes, fantastic tours to New York, Japan, Switzerland and not forgetting The Glastonbury Festival!
Benjamin said in a press release: “I feel honoured to have been a part of this iconic institution. The standard and dedication from everyone at Black Dyke is second to none, and some of the memories I have made will stay with me forever. I wish my friends and colleagues the very best and I look forward to the next chapter – which starts with adjudication training and an upcoming recording project for charity.”
Black Dyke’s Music Director Nicholas Childs commented: “Myself and The band would like to place on record our thanks to Benjamin, a fine player and friends forever.”
Benjamin’s final concert will be at Queensbury on 13th July.
