Robert Turnbull Steps Into The Slippers of Peggy Tomlinson

From Monday, 13th May, the Yorkshire Region has a new Regional Secretary as Robert Turnbull takes over the reins following the retirement of the much loved, Peggy Tomlinson.

Robert has served on the regional committee for many years, latterly as Chairman, and is also Secretary of Hade Edge Band and a member of the organising committee for the Holme Valley Contest.

Outgoing secretary, Peggy Tomlinson, told A4B: “Robert has a wide experience in banding and is an ideal choice for Yorkshire Regional Secretary. I wish Robert every success in his new role and I am sure the bands will work with Robert, as they have with me, to maintain the high standard expected of the Yorkshire championships.”

Peggy will still remain in contact with the championships as an advisor to the committee and, at the invitation of the committee, as Yorkshire Regional President. An invitation she was delighted to accept.
