Good Numbers Entered for Holme Valley Solo & Ensemble Competition

Entries are coming in at a good rate for the forthcoming Annual Holme Valley Solo and Ensemble competition which will be held at Hade Edge Bandroom on Saturday 9th November.

Organiser, Graham Bates commented: “We’ve already got 36 entries from 13 different bands / organisations, which is 50% up on the final numbers last year, so it looks like we’ll need to get a lot more pies and cakes. Naturally there’s always going to be clashes with something but the new November date seems to have worked in terms of numbers”.

There will be the usual friendly welcome, and the same sections and special awards as in previous years. Fresh from his success leading South Yorkshire Police band to the 2nd Section National Finals title in September, our adjudicator is the well-known Leigh Baker.
