Alan Hobbins Takes Strata Baton

Strata Brass are delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Hobbins as their new Musical Director.

Alan takes up the position with immediate effect having impressed the band after taking a couple of rehearsals and for their performance participating in Bandfest at the weekend.

A spokesman for the band told A4B: ‘Alan comes with a proven pedigree both as a player at the highest level With Grimethorpe Colliery, Brighouse & Rastrick, Faireys and a number of other top graded bands. He has also had success as a MD, taking most recently Hebden Bridge and winning the Yorkshire Area first section in 2013 and at Butlins Mineworkers Open in 2016.’

The band were over whelmed with the quality of more than 12 applicants but Alan immediately struck a chord with the band during the audition process.

The band are now working towards their second year competing at the top level in 2017. An announcement will be made shortly on some new signings for the band.
