Foden’s Youth Gear Up For 2017
On Sunday Foden’s Youth Band will hold their first rehearsal in 2017 ahead of a busy and exciting year that will see the band perform in a number of high profile concerts including an event with Foden’s Band and Foden’s Junior Band.
Speaking ahead of the first rehearsal, Foden’s Youth Band co ordinator Ian Raisbeck told A4B: ‘We are looking forward to welcoming members of our Youth band back to Sandbach after their Christmas Break and look forward to a number of exciting performance opportunities in 2017. The Youth Band is open to members aged 21 or under who have reached a minimum standard of Grade 5 on a brass or percussion instrument. The Band meet once per month in Sandbach, Cheshire on a Sunday morning (9:45am-1:15pm) with concerts 3-4 times per year.
Players are strongly encouraged to support their existing musical commitments elsewhere, and the schedule for Foden’s Youth Band is aimed at assisting this. Rehearsals are designed to stretch the young players offering them access to experienced high profiles tutors, exciting new repertoire and high quality direction. Foden’s also run a Junior Band (as a feeder to the Youth Band) for players between grade 2 and 5. The Junior Band rehearse as per the Youth Band but in Lymm.’
